How payments, cancellations, and refunds work for SEO Audit, Setup & Implementation, and Monthly SEO Growth engagements.
Last updated: September 2026
Payments are made by Interac e-Transfer. Work generally begins only after the required payment has been received, as set out in your invoice and service agreement. Some engagements (such as SEO Setup & Implementation) may be split into an upfront payment and a payment on completion — the specific split, if any, is confirmed in your proposal before work begins.
If you decide not to proceed after paying but before any work has started, the amount paid is refunded in full, less any time already spent on discovery calls, the preliminary website review, or proposal preparation directly related to your business, which is not refundable.
Once work on your SEO Audit & Strategy or SEO Setup & Implementation has begun, payments are non-refundable, since time and effort have already been committed to research, analysis, or implementation specific to your business. If you need to pause or stop a project partway through, you will receive whatever work has been completed to that point (for example, an audit report reflecting findings so far), and any remaining scope is simply not delivered — you are not billed for work that wasn't done.
Monthly retainer services are billed for the month ahead. You may cancel at any time by notifying Insanally Consulting in writing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month, and no further months are billed. The current month's payment is not refunded once that month's work has begun, but you will receive the reporting and any completed work for that month as usual.
SEO results — including rankings, traffic, and leads — cannot be guaranteed, because they depend on factors outside Insanally Consulting's control, such as search engine algorithms and competitor activity. Refunds are not issued solely because expected rankings or traffic increases did not materialize, provided the agreed work was actually carried out. This is consistent with the results disclaimer in the SEO Service Agreement.
If a client is unresponsive for 7 consecutive days, a project may be paused, consistent with the service agreement. Payments already made for work in progress at that point are not refunded, and resuming the project later may require a revised timeline.
Where a refund is due under this policy, it is returned by Interac e-Transfer to the same account it was received from, typically within 5–10 business days of the refund being agreed.
